The Cancer Monument Inc. joins forces with Harley Davidson of North Texas
On Saturday September 13th from 10am-5pm Harley Davidson of North Texas in Carrollton will conduct a Poker Run ride for charity that will help raise money to benefit The Cancer Monument Inc. Monies raised will benefit construction on the monument along with the Foundation's cancer education and awareness efforts. The Cancer Monument is the vision of Michelle Miller, President of the Foundation, resident of Allen, and a Hodgkins Lymphoma survivor. The Cancer Monument Inc. is in a 7-year partnership with the city of Allen to build the monument at Allen Station Park. 60,000 people who have battled cancer will have an opportunity to have their name engraved in granite for $135. More information and registration forms can be found on the Foundation's website.
"This is truly a limited opportunity of a lifetime," states Michelle Miller. "Those who battle cancer are not victims they are heroes in the War on Cancer." "Projects like this just don't happen everyday," "If you, or someone you know has ever battled cancer, then you are a hero and we would like you to honor them, register and have that name engraved on the monument."
As an added highlight, The Dallas Maverick dancers will be present to kickoff the event and sign autographs. There will also be a special appearance by Deuce, the mascot of the Frisco Rough Riders. Plus, food, music, raffles, contests and lots of fun all in the name of charity!
